About Me
It all began with some puppiesĀ
My passion for animals started when I was around five years old. One of my earliest memories is driving as a family to Devon (a small county in the south of England) to pick up our very first dog, a Samoyed puppy whom we named Sasha. I remember driving up to this big country house and being SO excited! When we entered, the breeder asked if we would like to meet the parents, and my mum then proceeded to ask if we could actually just meet the whole pack!
The breeder explained that they were very excitable, and she was worried I would be knocked over as I was so little, so they decided to place me in a corner of the room, blocked off by my Mum and an armchair. The breeder then opened the back doors and roughly eight adult Samoyeds came bounding into the living room to greet us. I particularly remember one very large pup that spotted me, then leaped up on the armchair because he wanted to say hello and smother me with kisses. I was making friends with a flurry of large fluffy teddy bears and it made me so incredibly happy.

I must have been a dog in a previous lifeĀ
The icing on the cake was that we that we were taking one home, a beautiful, sweet and calm Samoyed girl, Sasha. Sasha was literally my best friend growing up. I kid you not, I absolutely adored this dog. She was so beautifully tempered and she was always there for me throughout my childhood. I would take her on her daily walks (once I was big enough to do so on my own), play with her every single day and even try to sleep in her outdoors dog house!
This is 1000% where my love of dogs started, and it certainly did not end with her.
My family and other animals
Growing up surrounded by animals – we literally had every pet under the sun, even stick insects – meant that naturally a career working with animals was a must for young Sam.
So here I am, an adult in my mid 30s who is so proud of how far I’ve come and the experiences that I’ve gained along the way. I have strived to build a career working with animals, and that has lead me down the path to where I am today and I am so excited for this next venture ~ Bark On The Beach!
